Job Description

We are on the lookout for a talented AI Research Scientist to join our vibrant Stellenbosch team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in artificial intelligence and machine learning, focusing on developing novel algorithms and models that enhance our products and services.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement complex machine learning models to improve product functionality.
• Work closely with data scientists to refine data handling and preprocessing techniques.
• Evaluate current AI methodologies and propose enhancements based on research findings.
• Lead research initiatives and coordinate with academic collaborators.
• Document research methodologies, findings, and code to share with the team.
• Assist in the development of training materials for junior scientists.

Requirements

Education

• PhD in Artificial Intelligence or a related field
• Master's degree is also acceptable

Experience

• 5+ years of AI research experience

Technical Skills

• Machine Learning
• Natural Language Processing (NLP)

Certifications

• AI and Machine Learning Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with R and SQL: Strong analytical skills utilizing R and SQL for data manipulation.
