Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join our team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and treating a variety of animal health issues, performing surgeries, and providing exceptional care to our patients. You will work closely with pet owners to educate them on proper care and treatment options, ensuring a high standard of animal welfare.

Responsibilities

• Assess and treat illnesses and injuries in animals.
• Perform surgical operations and provide emergency care.
• Engage with clients to provide excellent customer service.
• Stay updated with the latest veterinary practices and technologies.
• Collaborate with specialists for advanced cases.
• Maintain laboratory and surgical equipment.
• Handle administrative tasks related to patient care.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc)
• Postgraduate diploma in veterinary medicine is a plus

Experience

• 3+ years of clinical experience in veterinary medicine

• Emergency Care

Certifications

• SAVC registration
• Canine and Feline Dentistry Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Conversational

Advantageous

• Experience in animal rehabilitation: Skills in rehabilitating injured or sick animals for release back into the wild.
