Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and implementing innovative design solutions, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed mechanical designs and models based on project specifications.
• Perform analysis and simulations to validate design integrity.
• Work alongside multidisciplinary teams to align goals and objectives.
• Manage project timelines and budget effectively.
• Conduct regular site visits to oversee project progress.
• Develop and maintain project documentation.
• Liaise with suppliers and vendors for material procurement.
• Mentor junior engineers, fostering a collaborative learning environment.
• Adapt designs based on changing project requirements or constraints.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Master's degree is an advantage

Experience

• 5+ years of relevant experience in mechanical design and analysis

Technical Skills

• CAD Software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
• Prototyping

Soft Skills

Certifications

• Lean Manufacturing Certification
• Six Sigma Green Belt

Languages

• English: Fluent
