Responsibilities

• Perform routine and emergency surgeries on a variety of animals.
• Consult pet owners to discuss treatment options and educate about animal healthcare.
• Ensure compliance with animal care and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with specialists for advanced care as needed.
• Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with support staff.
• Provide aftercare instructions to pet owners following surgeries.
• Assist in training veterinary students and interns when applicable.
• Participate in outreach programs aimed at improving animal health in the community.

Requirements

Education

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)
• Licensed to practice in South Africa

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years experience in veterinary medicine
