Log Hooker

Job Description

The Log Hooker will be responsible for processing and transporting logs in a safe and efficient manner. This role will require physical strength and the ability to work in challenging outdoor environments. Successful candidates will work closely with our experienced forestry team to ensure efficient logging operations.

Responsibilities

• Inspect logs to determine their quality and suitability for harvesting.
• Use hooks to pull logs out of the forest and load them onto trucks.
• Operate machinery, such as skidders and loaders, to transport logs to the processing plant.
• Maintain and repair equipment as needed.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Maintain accurate records of harvested logs.
• Communicate with team members to coordinate efficient log harvesting.
• Follow all safety procedures to minimize accidents or injuries.
• Support other team members in achieving operational objectives.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent

Experience

• Experience operating heavy machinery, with a focus on logging equipment.

Technical Skills

• Mechanical Aptitude

• Time Management

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Additional certifications in heavy equipment operation: Any additional qualifications in operating heavy machinery will be beneficial.
