Job Description

As a Tool Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing tools and machinery essential to our manufacturing processes. Collaborating closely with engineers and production teams, you will ensure that tools are optimised for efficiency and meet quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in the design and prototype of new tooling solutions.
  • Work closely with the R&D department to integrate new technologies.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of existing tools and machinery.
  • Conduct regular maintenance checks to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Suggest modifications to improve tool performance and safety.
  • Assist in the development of training programs for tool usage and safety.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to source materials for tool production.
  • Implement Lean principles to improve manufacturing efficiency.
  • Analyse data to identify opportunities for process improvement.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Professional registration with a relevant engineering body
Experience
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in tool engineering or related field.
Technical Skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD, SolidWorks)
  • Excellent technical skills and knowledge of manufacturing processes

Certifications
  • Project management certification (e.g. PMP)

Languages
  • English: Fluent

  • Experience with CNC machines and automation systems: Familiarity with computer numerically controlled machinery and automated processes.
  • Experience in 3D printing and additive manufacturing: Knowledge of modern manufacturing techniques including additive approaches.
