Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Pharmacist to enhance our healthcare team. Your responsibilities will include assessing medication therapy, managing drug interactions, and providing detailed patient education. You will serve as a vital resource for both patients and healthcare staff regarding medication management.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct medication therapy management assessments.
  • Assist in the development of clinical guidelines for medication use.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to pharmacotherapy.
  • Provide training and mentorship to pharmacy interns and support staff.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
  • Evaluate and recommend adjustments to medication regimens based on patient responses.
  • Compile and analyze data related to medication use and outcomes.

Requirements

Education
  • Pharm.D. or equivalent qualification
  • Master’s degree in Clinical Pharmacy is preferred.
Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years in clinical pharmacy practice.
Technical Skills
  • Medication Therapy Management
  • Therapeutic Drug Monitoring
Certifications
  • South African Pharmacy Council registration
  • Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS)
Languages
  • English: Fluent

Advantageous

  • Experience in oncology or pediatrics: Specialization in specific therapeutic areas is beneficial.
  • Research experience in pharmacotherapy: Involvement in clinical research projects is an advantage.
