Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Selectman to join our team in Cape Town. The Selectman will be responsible for various administrative duties, playing a crucial role in decision-making processes affecting the community.

Responsibilities

  • Attend city functions and represent the local government effectively.
  • Analyze community needs and recommend policies to address them.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with community stakeholders.
  • Prepare reports and documentation for council meetings and public records.
  • Facilitate community engagement initiatives and public forums.
  • Monitor the implementation of municipal programs and services.
  • Assist in conflict resolution among community members.
  • Liaise with government agencies and other municipalities on projects.
  • Promote and advocate for the municipality's interests at all levels of government.
  • Conduct in-depth research on local governance issues.

Requirements

Education
  • Master's degree in Public Administration or a related field is preferred

  • Extensive experience in local government positions, particularly in administrative roles
