Freight Strategy Manager

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Freight Strategy Manager to lead our logistics operations in Durban. The successful candidate will develop and implement freight strategies aimed at optimizing transportation efficiency and reducing costs. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to improve our overall supply chain performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of freight strategies that enhance operational efficiency.
• Identify and resolve issues in transportation logistics.
• Oversee the logistical aspects of freight operations on a day-to-day basis.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
• Drive initiatives to reduce transportation costs while maintaining service levels.
• Generate insights and recommendations based on data analysis.
• Manage freight budgets and financial forecasting.
• Engage in negotiations with logistics providers.
• Evaluate and implement new freight management software solutions.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the logistics team.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Transportation or related field
• Master's degree in Business Administration preferred

Experience

• 8+ years of experience in logistics management
