Pit Steward

Job Description

As a Pit Steward, you will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing the pit area during motorsport events. You will ensure the safety of participants while coordinating efficient operations in the pit, liaising closely with teams and officials to uphold high standards.

Responsibilities

• Help manage the logistics of the pit area during races.
• Communicate effectively with teams to assist in efficient pit stops.
• Monitor the safety of all personnel in the pit area at all times.
• Provide training and support to new team members regarding safety protocols.
• Facilitate clear communication between participants and race officials.
• Implement emergency responses as required during events.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of pit operations and suggest improvements.
• Lead safety briefings for pit crew and participants before events.
• Maintain a comprehensive record of pit activities and incidents.
• Assist with the planning and execution of post-event evaluations.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent

Experience

• 1-2 years in event management or coordination roles preferred.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of pit area operations

Soft Skills

• Bilingual proficiency

Certifications

• Advanced First Aid Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Conversational

Advantageous

• Knowledge of local motorsports regulations and governing bodies.: Familiarity with the rules and guidelines set by local motorsport authorities.
• Experience in crowd control or security management.: Skills in managing crowds and security protocols during events.
