Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Docent to lead our educational tours and provide an immersive experience to visitors of all ages. You will be responsible for interpreting exhibitions and delivering engaging presentations that highlight South Africa's rich cultural heritage.

Responsibilities

  • Lead educational tours and provide engaging narratives to visitors.
  • Create educational materials, including brochures and presentations.
  • Research historical content and develop programs to connect with diverse audiences.
  • Support the Head of Education in organizing community events.
  • Engage with guests to foster a warm and welcoming museum environment.
  • Assist in volunteer training and management.
  • Stay updated on the museum's collections and exhibition themes.
  • Offer assistance during special exhibitions and events.

Requirements

Education
  • Master's degree in Museum Studies or related field is preferred
Experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role within an educational setting.
