Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Ship Pilot to oversee the navigation and operation of large vessels through complex waterways. The ideal candidate will ensure the safety of the ship, cargo, and crew while adhering to maritime laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with maritime regulations and safety standards.
• Provide training to vessel crew on safety procedures and equipment.
• Analyze weather patterns and navigational challenges to adjust routes accordingly.
• Develop and implement emergency response plans for maritime incidents.
• Collaborate with other marine personnel for operational efficiency.

Requirements

Education

• Minimum Matric qualification
• Further qualifications in maritime safety or navigation are advantageous

Experience

• Experience navigating ships through challenging waterways or weather conditions

Technical Skills

• GPS navigation software expertise
• Radio communication skills

Soft Skills

• Team collaboration

Certifications

• STCW certifications
• Additional maritime certifications

Languages

• English: Fluent
