Driller\'s Assistant

Job Description

The Driller's Assistant will provide support to drillers in various operations. The ideal candidate must be physically fit, mechanically inclined, and able to work under pressure. You will collaborate closely with the drilling team to ensure safety and efficiency at all times.

Responsibilities

• Aid in the setup of drilling equipment and tools.
• Provide support during drilling operations, including handling drilling fluids.
• Maintain a safe and organized workplace.
• Assist with site preparation and post-operation cleanup.
• Comply with all company safety protocols.
• Report any issues or equipment failures immediately to the supervisor.

Requirements

Education

• Matric or equivalent
• Additional certification in drilling techniques preferred

Experience

• Proven track record of working safely in the mining context.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of diamond drilling
• Computer literacy

Soft Skills

• Teamwork
• Problem-solving

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Basic

Advantageous

• Fluency in additional local languages: Ability to communicate in more than one local language can be an asset.
