Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and treat illnesses in animals through examinations and lab results.
  • Implement and oversee vaccination programs for pets.
  • Perform routine surgeries such as spaying/neutering, and other surgical interventions.
  • Manage medical and surgical records for patients.
  • Work alongside a team of veterinary technicians to deliver high-quality care.
  • Participate in community outreach and education programs.
  • Provide follow-up care and consultation to pet owners.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the clinic.
  • Manage inventory and supplies in the surgical area.
  • Train and mentor junior staff and interns.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc) or equivalent
  • Registration with the South African Veterinary Council (SAVC) is mandatory
Experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in a veterinary practice
