Job Description

As a Civil Rights Lawyer at Advocates for Justice Ltd., you'll work to protect the civil liberties of individuals in Johannesburg. Your role will involve legal representation in cases ranging from discrimination to human rights violations.

Responsibilities

• Handle a diverse caseload involving civil rights violations.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and briefs for litigation purposes.
• Engage in community outreach to educate on civil rights issues.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in civil rights law.
• Collaborate with fellow lawyers and legal staff on complex cases.
• Assess the strengths and weaknesses of cases to strategize legal action.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's in Law
• Postgraduate Diploma in Human Rights Law preferred

Experience

• 5 years of experience in a related legal field
