Job Description

As a Legal Counsel at our Cape Town office, you will play a critical role in providing comprehensive legal support, ensuring regulatory compliance, and enhancing business decision-making processes. Candidates with a strong corporate and commercial law background are highly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Support the legal department in all aspects of legal compliance.
• Review and facilitate the resolution of legal disputes and issues.
• Collaborate with internal departments to align policies with legal requirements.
• Provide guidance on employment law matters and employee contracts.
• Assist in mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions.
• Keep accurate records of legal matters and case management.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive legal documents.
• Participate in risk assessment and management initiatives.

Requirements

Education

• Master of Laws (LLM) is advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years of relevant legal experience

Technical Skills

• Intellectual Property Law
• Litigation

• Interpersonal Skills

Certifications

• Legal Practice Course (or equivalent)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in Compliance Management: Familiarity with compliance regulations affecting the corporate sector.
