Job Description

We are seeking a diligent Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our team in Durban. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of mechanical systems and a passion for problem-solving. You will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical equipment to ensure optimal performance.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate maintenance needs and develop schedules accordingly.
• Document and report maintenance procedures and outcomes.
• Implement equipment upgrades and modifications.
• Assist in training junior maintenance staff.
• Ensure tools and equipment are maintained and in good working condition.
• Foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the team.

Requirements

Education

• N3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering is preferred

Experience

• 5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance or related field

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Basic

Advantageous

• Experience with PLC Programming: Knowledge of PLC systems is beneficial.
