Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Johannesburg team. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing mechanical systems and components. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles and experience in project management.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed engineering specifications and drawings.
• Work collaboratively with clients to understand project needs.
• Lead design reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Monitor project progress and adjust plans as necessary.
• Evaluate existing mechanical systems for efficiency improvements.
• Implement best practices in design and engineering processes.
• Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for materials and services.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Master's degree in a related field is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and analysis

Technical Skills

• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Mechanical Systems Design

Soft Skills

• Critical Thinking
• Adaptability

Certifications

• Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CMfgE)
• Project Management Professional (PMP)

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Basic

Advantageous

• Experience with automation and control systems: Hands-on experience in designing automated mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of robotics and AI in engineering: Familiarity with integrating AI into mechanical design and operations.
