Public Health Officer

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Public Health Officer to join our team in Cape Town. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating public health programs aimed at improving community health. You will work closely with local communities, government agencies, and health professionals to address public health challenges.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement health promotion campaigns targeting specific populations.
• Monitor environmental health hazards and ensure compliance with health regulations.
• Conduct community health needs assessments to identify gaps in services.
• Develop educational materials to inform the public about health risks and resources.
• Report findings to stakeholders and recommend policy or program changes.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on health-related initiatives.
• Assist in the development of health policies that address community needs.
• Research best practices in public health and apply them to local programs.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Nursing, or related field
• Master's degree in Public Health preferred

Experience

• Minimum 3 years of public health experience
