Theatrical Rigger

Job Description

As a Theatrical Rigger, you'll be key in ensuring the safe and precise rigging of equipment for all types of performances. Your technical skills and creativity will shine as you collaborate with various production teams to bring shows to life.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the installation and dismantling of rigging equipment.
• Conduct thorough safety checks on rigging equipment before and after use.
• Work closely with directors and designers to interpret rigging requirements.
• Assist in the load-in and load-out process of shows and events.
• Ensure proper storage and maintenance of all rigging gear.
• Monitor the performance of the rigging systems throughout productions.
• Assist in emergency procedures related to rigging failures.
• Document rigging setups for future reference and training.
• Provide ongoing maintenance and troubleshooting for rigging systems.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Diploma in Theatre Production or related field is advantageous

Experience

• 3+ years in rigging for live events or theatre

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of Aerial Rigging Techniques
• Basic Electrical Knowledge

Soft Skills

• Teamwork
• Attention to Detail

Certifications

• Safety Training Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with Sound Equipment Rigging: Understanding of rigging related to sound systems.
• Experience in Event Management: Background in managing aspects of live events is a plus.
