Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Construction Project Manager to lead our construction projects in Port Elizabeth. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. The candidate will also oversee the coordination of teams and ensure the compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the selection of project team members based on project requirements.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior project team members.
• Conduct post-project evaluations to capture lessons learned.
• Support the preparation of project budgets and forecasts.
• Collaborate with architects and engineers to ensure project specifications are met.
• Investigate and resolve project-related issues promptly.
• Optimize processes and implement improvements based on project feedback.
• Continuously monitor market trends within the construction industry.

Requirements

Education

• Diploma in Construction Management or equivalent
• Bachelor's degree preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in managing construction projects

Technical Skills

• Cost Estimation Software
• Scheduling software (e.g. Asta)

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving
• Negotiation

Certifications

• Certified Construction Manager (CCM)
• OSHA Safety Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM): Experience using BIM tools for project visualization and planning.
