Job Description

We are looking for a motivated Structural Engineer to join our team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of structural design and a keen attention to detail. You will be responsible for designing and assessing structures, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and collaborating with project teams to deliver innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design and evaluate structural elements for buildings and infrastructure.
• Work with project teams to deliver timely and cost-effective solutions.
• Collaborate with construction teams to ensure designs are implemented accurately.
• Draft clear engineering documentation and reports.
• Supervise on-site construction activities to ensure compliance.
• Research and apply new technologies in structural engineering.
• Assist in the preparation of project proposals and budgets.
• Contribute to the development of internal engineering standards.
• Engage with clients to foster strong relationships.
• Analyze and solve complex engineering challenges as they arise.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Structural Engineering is a plus
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in structural design and analysis

Technical Skills

• Finite Element Analysis
• Codes and Standards

Soft Skills

• Attention to Detail
• Leadership

Certifications

• LEED Accredited Professional

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with seismic design: Knowledge of seismic design principles and standards.
• Familiarity with software like ETABS: Proficiency in using ETABS for structural analysis.
