Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Psychiatric Nurse to join our team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills and a passion for providing high-quality mental health care. You will work closely with patients, offering support and developing care plans to improve their mental health.

Responsibilities

  • Administer psychiatric medications and evaluate their impact.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop prevention strategies.
  • Implement therapeutic interventions with patients.
  • Provide support during group therapy sessions.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers for comprehensive patient care.
  • Facilitate communication between patients and their families.
  • Develop educational materials related to mental health.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the department.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing with a focus on Mental Health
  • Postgraduate qualification in Psychiatric Nursing is advantageous
Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in mental health care settings
