Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our Cape Town team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical components and systems. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of engineering principles and a passion for innovation. You will work closely with a collaborative team to deliver high-quality engineering solutions that meet client needs.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test mechanical devices and systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish project goals.
• Conduct research and analysis to improve existing products.
• Prepare and present technical reports to stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Manage design iterations based on feedback from testing.
• Troubleshoot mechanical systems and propose solutions.
• Maintain project documentation and design records.
• Contribute to project planning and scheduling.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers and interns.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering
• Master's in Mechanical Engineering or related field is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and analysis

Technical Skills

• 3D Modeling Software (CATIA, NX)
• Project Management Software (MS Project, Trello)

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Time management

Certifications

• Six Sigma Green Belt
• Lean Manufacturing Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Xhosa: Basic
