Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our Cape Town team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical components and systems. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of engineering principles and a passion for innovation. You will work closely with a collaborative team to deliver high-quality engineering solutions that meet client needs.

Responsibilities

• Develop prototypes and iterative designs for mechanical components.
• Work alongside electrical engineers to integrate systems.
• Evaluate material selections based on project specifications.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and timelines.
• Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Research and implement advanced engineering practices.
• Support manufacturing processes to optimize efficiency.
• Create 3D CAD models and simulations.
• Supervise installations and field-testing of mechanical systems.
• Consult with clients to gather requirements and feedback.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering
• Master's in Mechanical Engineering or related field is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and analysis

Technical Skills

• 3D Modeling Software (CATIA, NX)
• Project Management Software (MS Project, Trello)

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Time management

Certifications

• Six Sigma Green Belt
• Lean Manufacturing Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Xhosa: Basic

• Leadership experience in engineering projects: Proven ability to lead engineering teams through complex projects.
