Public Health Specialist

Job Description

We are looking for a passionate Public Health Specialist to enhance our public health initiatives in Cape Town. In this role, you will assess community health needs, develop strategic health interventions, and coordinate with local organizations to ensure effective health program implementation.

Responsibilities

• Assess and prioritize public health issues affecting the community.
• Create educational materials and resources for community dissemination.
• Participate in community coalitions to strengthen public health strategies.
• Train and supervise volunteers and interns involved in health initiatives.
• Contribute to research papers and publications relevant to public health topics.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Public Health or related field
• Master's degree in Public Health or relevant subject is preferred

Experience

• 4+ years of experience in public health roles

• Statistical Software

• Public Speaking

Certifications

• Public Health Certified Specialist
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Xhosa: Basic

Advantageous

• Fluency in multiple South African languages: Ability to communicate effectively in local languages is a plus.
