Pharmacist

Job Description

As a Pharmacist at Leading Pharmacy in Cape Town, you will play a vital role in providing pharmaceutical care to our patients. You will perform essential duties including dispensation of prescriptions, counseling patients about drug use, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to optimize patient medication plans.

Responsibilities

• Consult with physicians and pharmacists regarding treatment plans.
• Implement quality improvement initiatives in pharmacy practice.
• Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
• Evaluate pharmaceutical literature and recommend suitable therapies.
• Provide leadership and training to pharmacy assistants.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy
• Postgraduate qualification is an advantage

Experience

• 2+ years of direct pharmacy experience

Technical Skills

• Clinical assessment skills
• Familiarity with pharmacy software systems

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving skills
• Team collaboration

Certifications

• Registered Pharmacist (SAPC)
• Basic Life Support (BLS)

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Xhosa: Conversational

Advantageous

• Knowledge of legislative changes in pharmacy: Up-to-date with changes in pharmacy laws and regulations.
• Management experience: Experience managing pharmacy staff and operations.
