Job Description

The Outreach Librarian will be responsible for crafting and executing outreach strategies to effectively engage diverse communities, enhancing their access to library resources and services. This role involves promoting literacy and lifelong learning through community events and partnerships.

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute outreach programs tailored to underserved communities.
  • Foster partnerships with local schools and organizations to enhance library visibility.
  • Organize workshops, book readings, and other events aimed at increasing library patronage.
  • Lead initiatives to assess community needs and tailor services accordingly.
  • Design promotional materials to highlight library offerings.
  • Track outreach efforts and report on their impact and reach.
  • Engage with community members through social media platforms.
  • Work with library staff to align outreach activities with library goals.
  • Manage the outreach budget and ensure effective use of resources.
  • Conduct surveys to gather feedback from the community on library services.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Library and Information Science or equivalent
  • Master's degree in Library Science is preferred
Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in outreach or community-focused roles
