Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Legal Counsel to join our dynamic team in Durban. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate law, labor relations, and dispute resolution, along with excellent communication skills to advise clients on various legal matters. The role involves drafting contracts, providing legal advice, and representing clients in legal proceedings.

Responsibilities

• Identify potential legal issues within the organization.
• Advise on intellectual property and contractual matters.
• Assist in crisis management and legal risk assessment.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure legal compliance.
• Deliver training sessions on legal matters to staff.
• Monitor changes in legislation and assess impacts.
• Serve as a liaison between the organization and external stakeholders.
• Conduct regular audits of legal compliance.
• Advise on litigation and settlement strategies.
• Participate in stakeholder meetings to discuss legal impacts.

Advantageous

• Experience in M&A transactions: Knowledge of mergers and acquisitions processes.
• Fluency in additional South African languages: Ability to speak Afrikaans or French is beneficial.
