Job Description

The Hospital Admissions Officer is responsible for ensuring that all patients are properly admitted into the hospital while ensuring all relevant documentation is accurately and efficiently processed. This role is vital in maintaining smooth operations within the hospital.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the patient admissions workflow, ensuring compliance with hospital policies.
  • Perform initial assessments for patient admission, facilitating necessary pre-admission tests.
  • Work closely with the billing department to confirm insurance coverage and pre-authorizations.
  • Assist patients and families with procedural explanations regarding admissions.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality according to HIPAA regulations.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive patient files and documents.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration or a related field is preferred
Experience
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
Technical Skills
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and policies
Soft Skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure
Languages
  • English: Fluent

  • Previous experience in a hospital admissions role: Hands-on experience managing patient admissions in a fast-paced environment.
