Mortar Maker

Job Description

As a Mortar Maker, you will be integral to our construction team, responsible for producing high-quality mortar that meets specific project requirements. You will prepare the mortar mixture, monitor its consistency, check for quality, and ensure the proper storage and handling to facilitate seamless construction processes.

Responsibilities

• Create mortars tailored to different building materials and techniques.
• Continuously monitor the mixing process to ensure consistency.
• Report and rectify any discrepancies in mortar quality promptly.
• Educate team members on proper mortar handling and application practices.
• Participate in safety drills and ensure all safety protocols are followed.
• Liaise with suppliers for procurement of raw materials as needed.
• Track material usage rates and assist with inventory management.
• Attend regular staff meetings to discuss production challenges and solutions.
• Contribute ideas for process improvements.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times.

Requirements

Education

• Matric certificate or equivalent
• Relevant certification or training in mortar production is advantageous

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years in mortar production or a similar role.

Technical Skills

• Mortar mixing equipment usage
• Material assessment

Soft Skills

• Time management
• Team player

Languages

• English: Fluent

• Ability to operate additional construction equipment: Competency in using various other construction machinery.
