Job Description

We are on the lookout for an experienced IP Specialist to join our legal team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of intellectual property law and will be responsible for advising clients on the protection of their intellectual assets. This role requires a proactive individual who can navigate complex legal frameworks and provide strategic guidance.

Responsibilities

• Advise on the protection and commercialization of IP rights.
• Conduct legal research related to IP cases and precedents.
• Negotiate and finalize licensing agreements with third parties.
• Monitor potential infringements and initiate appropriate legal action if necessary.
• Provide insights and guidance on strategic IP decisions.
• Prepare legal documents, reports, and correspondence.
• Collaborate with external counsel on complex IP matters.
• Represent the firm at seminars and conferences related to IP law.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB or equivalent)
• Postgraduate degree in Intellectual Property Law is preferred

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in intellectual property law
