Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Veterinary Technician to join our dynamic team in Durban. This role focuses on providing exceptional care for animals, assisting veterinarians with medical procedures, and ensuring a welcoming environment for clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal welfare and a commitment to customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Support veterinarians during consultations and procedures.
  • Conduct health assessments and initial patient evaluations.
  • Administer anesthetics and monitor patients during surgery.
  • Educate clients on post-operative care and preventative health.
  • Manage appointments and maintain the veterinary pharmacy.
  • Collaborate with team members to create a welcoming environment.
  • Provide emergency care and triage when necessary.
  • Assist in the training and mentoring of new staff.
  • Engage in continuous professional development.
  • Facilitate communication between clients and veterinarians.

Requirements

Education
  • Diploma in Veterinary Technology or equivalent
Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a veterinary setting
