The successful candidate will handle various corporate law matters, including mergers and acquisitions, compliance, and contract negotiations. You will be responsible for providing legal advice to clients and ensuring robust legal support within the firm.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide legal advice on a range of corporate issues including compliance and risk management.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with stakeholders.
  • Assist in the preparation of corporate documents for compliance purposes.
  • Conduct research on industry laws and regulations.
  • Advise clients on corporate governance best practices.
  • Support internal teams in resolving legal matters efficiently.
  • Remain knowledgeable on changes to laws and regulations affecting corporate clients.
  • Manage and supervise junior legal staff as needed.
  • Engage with external regulatory bodies on behalf of clients.
  • Lead client meetings and presentations effectively.
Job Requirements
  • LLB or equivalent degree in Law
  • Admission as an attorney in South Africa
  • Corporate Law In-depth knowledge of corporate law principles and practices.
  • Contract Negotiation Proficient in drafting and negotiating various contracts.
  • Legal Research Skilled in conducting thorough legal research.
  • Communication Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Analytical Thinking Excellent analytical skills for problem-solving.
  • Negotiation Skills Effective negotiator with strong advocacy skills.
  • English (Fluent)
Advantageous
  • Experience with compliance regulations: Familiarity with industry regulations and compliance standards.
  • Knowledge of M&A processes: Understanding of mergers and acquisitions and due diligence processes.
