Veterinary Surgeon

Job Description

We seek a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join our passionate team in Pietermaritzburg. In this role, you’ll be responsible for diagnosing and treating a variety of animal health issues. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in veterinary medicine and a love for animals.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and examine animals for illnesses, injuries, and other health problems.
• Set up and maintain medical instruments and equipment.
• Monitor patients following surgery and during recovery.
• Develop a rapport with pet owners and gain their trust for ongoing care.
• Respond promptly to emergencies and provide critical care.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Medicine or related discipline
• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) desirable

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in clinical veterinary practice

• Certification in Veterinary Medicine
• Veterinary Pain Management Certificate

Languages

• Zulu: Conversational
