Structural Engineer

Job Description

We are looking to hire a talented Structural Engineer who will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity and safety of structures. Collaborating with architects and construction teams, you’ll apply your technical expertise to create innovative approaches, solid designs, and sustainable building practices that minimize environmental impact.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design process on projects from conception to completion.
• Supervise site operations, ensuring all work aligns with the approved plans.
• Utilize software applications for modelling and analysing structural components.
• Prepare and present project proposals to stakeholders.
• Assist in managing project schedules and budgets to achieve objectives.
• Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in structural engineering technology.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering
• Master's degree would be advantageous

Experience

• 7+ years of progressive experience in structural engineering

Technical Skills

• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Building Information Modelling (BIM)

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Critical thinking

Certifications

• Certified Civil Engineer (CCE)
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Past projects with green certifications: Experience in delivering projects that meet sustainable standards.
• Strong knowledge of local building codes: Understanding of regulations governing constructions in Gauteng.
