Job Description

Looking for an Urban Planner to contribute to exciting urban development projects in Durban. The successful candidate will engage with communities and stakeholders to design innovative, sustainable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Perform site analyses to assess development potential and constraints.
• Draft and prepare zoning applications and land use plans.
• Lead public meetings and workshops to engage community stakeholders.
• Research and integrate sustainable practices into urban development.
• Prepare reports and documentation for planning processes.
• Collaborate with governmental and non-governmental organizations.
• Monitor local trends in urban development and community needs.
• Assist in environmental assessments related to urban planning.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning or related field
• Professional accreditation is preferred

Experience

• 2-4 years of experience in planning or related roles

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in Environmental Planning: Familiarity with the principles of environmental conservation in urban design.
