Mechanical Technician

Job Description

We are currently seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join our team in Pretoria. The ideal candidate will have a background in mechanical engineering, with expertise in maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical systems. You will play a key role in ensuring the efficient operation of our engineering projects.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance schedules and ensure timely execution.
• Liaise with suppliers for parts and equipment needed for repairs.
• Utilize diagnostic tools to assess mechanical functions.
• Participate in project planning and execution.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.

Requirements

Education

• National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is advantageous

Experience

• 3+ years of progressive experience in mechanical maintenance

Technical Skills

• Hydraulics and Pneumatics
• Welding and Fabrication

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving
• Communication

Certifications

• Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) registration is a plus

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles: Experience implementing lean methodologies in manufacturing processes.
• Project Management skills: Ability to manage small projects and coordinate with teams.
