Job Description

We're on the lookout for a Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team based in Durban. This role involves designing and implementing engineering solutions while collaborating on various projects. The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering and have a strong understanding of industry standards. You will ensure projects are completed on time and within budget, addressing both technical and logistical challenges effectively.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical systems and components.
• Conduct feasibility studies and cost analysis for projects.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
• Test and evaluate prototypes and existing products.
• Collaborate with design and production teams to enhance product designs.
• Optimize manufacturing processes for efficiency.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and provide solutions.
• Document all engineering processes and findings.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations for stakeholders.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Master's degree an advantage

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering roles

Technical Skills

• ProE/Creo
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)

Soft Skills

• Creative Problem Solving
• Communication Skills

Certifications

• Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) Registration
• ISO 9001 Internal Auditor Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Basic

Advantageous

• Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) software: Familiarity with PLM software to manage product data and processes.
• Knowledge of renewable energy systems: Insight into the design and implementation of green technologies.
