We are searching for a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our vibrant team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will design and develop mechanical systems and work on innovative projects that contribute to sustainability in engineering. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize mechanical designs using modern engineering techniques.
• Perform mechanical simulations to predict system performance and durability.
• Collaborate with electrical and software engineers to integrate systems efficiently.
• Compile cost estimates for mechanical components in project bids.
• Produce and review prototypes for function and design integrity.
• Conduct regular site visits to ensure alignment with engineering designs.
• Implement and maintain health and safety standards in engineering processes.
• Engage in risk assessment and mitigation strategies during project execution.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team.
• Assist in the development of training material for new hires.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Master's degree in a related field is an advantage

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering

Technical Skills

• CAD Software
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)

Soft Skills

• Team Leadership
• Adaptability

Certifications

• Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CMfgE)
• ISO 9001 Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
