Job Description

We are searching for a skilled Aircraft Cargo Handling Supervisor (Ramp Boss) to oversee and manage operations at our Johannesburg facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient handling of aircraft, coordinating ground services, and leading a dedicated team of ramp agents to enhance operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Direct ramp operations, ensuring optimal safety and operational efficiency.
  • Train ramp staff on best practices for aircraft handling and safety compliance.
  • Manage aircraft turnaround processes, ensuring timely arrival and departure.
  • Respond to equipment malfunctions and coordinate repairs as needed.
  • Prepare and analyze reports on ramp performance, identifying improvement areas.
  • Ensure all staff adhere to safety and operational regulations.
  • Collaborate with airport authority and logistics teams to optimize logistics.
  • Assist in maintaining equipment and ensuring it meets safety standards.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork and accountability among ramp personnel.
  • Engage with senior management to discuss operational improvements and challenges.

Requirements

Education
  • Certification in Ground Operations Management is preferred
Experience
  • 5+ years in a supervisory role within aviation or related field
