Job Description

Join our team as an Eligibility Interviewer, where you will assess clients' eligibility for various government programs through detailed interviews and thorough documentation review. Your ability to engage with clients effectively is vital in helping them access necessary support.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and document client eligibility based on interviews and paperwork.
  • Respond to client questions regarding eligibility and program details.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and policies.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Assist in training new eligibility interviewers.
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss program updates and challenges.

Requirements

Education
  • Matric certificate or equivalent
  • Relevant degree or qualification in social sciences is advantageous
Experience
  • Minimum 1-2 years of customer service experience, preferably in a call centre or public sector environment.
Technical Skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software
Soft Skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to handle difficult customers with patience and empathy
Languages
  • English: Fluent
  • Afrikaans: Conversational

Advantageous

  • Additional language proficiency: Fluency in local languages such as Zulu or Xhosa will be beneficial.
  • Prior experience in government programs or public service: Experience working in a public sector role is highly valued.
