Public Health Officer

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Public Health Officer to join our team in Port Elizabeth. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing and managing public health programs, conducting health assessments, and collaborating with community leaders to promote health initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of public health principles and possess excellent analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and evaluate health promotion campaigns to address community health concerns.
• Analyze epidemiological data to identify health trends and areas for improvement.
• Work with schools and local businesses to promote health education and prevention strategies.
• Facilitate workshops and training sessions for community health workers.
• Engage in advocacy efforts to influence public health policy.
• Develop partnerships with organizations focused on improving public health.
• Assist in the preparation of grant proposals to fund public health projects.
• Ensure compliance with health regulations and standards.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Public Health or related field
• Master's degree in Public Health is preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in public health or health promotion
