Veterinary Surgeon

Job Description

As a Veterinary Surgeon, you will play a vital role in the health and well-being of our animal patients. We seek a dedicated professional with experience in a variety of surgical procedures and a passion for veterinary medicine.

Responsibilities

• Examine pets to diagnose any conditions or health issues.
• Provide surgery and medical care to animals in line with protocols.
• Develop treatment plans and follow-up care for animals post-surgery.
• Engage with pet owners to inform them about their pets’ health and treatment options.
• Supervise and mentor junior veterinary staff as needed.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the veterinary practice.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Medicine
• Specialization in Animal Surgery is preferred

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years’ clinical experience in a veterinary setting.

• Emergency Medicine

Certifications

• Certificate in Veterinary Medicine
• Specialization in Feline Medicine is advantageous

Languages

• Afrikaans: Conversational
• English: Fluent

• Experience in Emergency Veterinary Care: Experience with handling emergency situations in veterinary medicine.
• Certification in Veterinary Nutritional Counseling: Knowledge of proper dietary management for a variety of species.
