Job Description

As a Transporter, you will play a crucial role in ensuring goods are transported safely and efficiently from one location to another. You will navigate through busy streets and follow traffic regulations to deliver goods on time. This role requires both independence and excellent communication skills to coordinate with clients and dispatchers.

Responsibilities

• Safely deliver goods while ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
• Manage route planning effectively for timely deliveries.
• Maintain communication with clients regarding delivery status.
• Complete daily vehicle inspections and report issues.
• Update electronic logs and maintain accurate records.
• Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries.
• Assist in loading and unloading cargo as necessary.
• Collaborate with team members to improve logistics processes.
• Participate in training sessions for safety regulations.
• Support the dispatch team with delivery coordination.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent

Experience

• 2+ years of experience in long-haul or cross-border transportation preferred

Technical Skills

• Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving skills

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Basic

Advantageous

• Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair: Ability to conduct minor vehicle repairs as needed.
• Bilingual proficiency (English and Afrikaans): Ability to communicate effectively in both languages.
