Job Description

We are seeking a meticulous Bookkeeper to join our team in Durban. The ideal candidate will manage financial records with precision, ensuring all transactions are accurately processed and documented. You will work closely with our finance team to maintain the integrity of our financial data.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the preparation of financial data for monthly and annual reporting.
• Develop relationships with vendors and clients to ensure excellent service.
• Prepare budgets and assist in financial planning.
• Conduct regular checks to ensure accuracy and compliance of financial records.
• Implement improvements to the accounting system.
• Assist in the development of financial policies and procedures.
• Provide insights on financial trends impacting the business.
• Assist with any ad-hoc financial projects as assigned.
• Participate in team meetings to improve company financial strategies.
• Ensure that accounts are closed in a timely manner.

Requirements

Education

• Diploma in Accounting or relevant field
• Bachelor's preferred but not essential

Experience

• 3+ years of bookkeeping experience with a solid understanding of accounting principles

Technical Skills

• SAGE 300
• Financial Reporting

• Problem-solving
• Time management

Certifications

• ACCA Level 1

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Basic

Advantageous

• Proficiency in using accounting software: Advanced skills with software such as Pastel or Xero.
• Experience in managing financial audits: Previous involvement in assisting with audit processes.
