Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Barista to join our team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have a love for coffee and an eagerness to deliver excellent customer service, creating a welcoming environment for our patrons. Experience in coffee preparation and customer interaction is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare coffee beverages according to standard recipes and customer preferences.
• Deliver outstanding customer interaction, ensuring satisfaction with each visit.
• Maintain hygiene and cleanliness in all areas of the café.
• Assist in managing stock levels and ordering necessary supplies.
• Participate in coffee tastings to enhance product knowledge.
• Handle customer complaints and feedback professionally.
• Operate cash registers and conduct sales transactions efficiently.
• Promote special offers and events to customers.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Barista certification or hospitality training preferred

Experience

• 2-3 years of experience in the food and beverage industry

Technical Skills

• Latte art
• Point of Sale (POS) systems

Soft Skills

• Multitasking
• Problem-solving

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Basic

Advantageous

• Knowledge of coffee roasting principles: Understanding of the coffee roasting process and its impact on flavor.
