Dental Laboratory Manager

Job Description

We are looking for a Dental Laboratory Manager to oversee the daily operations of our lab in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and extensive experience in dental laboratory management. You will be responsible for ensuring product quality, managing workflows, and leading a team of skilled technicians.

Responsibilities

• Direct the daily activities of the dental laboratory and ensure smooth functioning.
• Foster a culture of quality and teamwork among laboratory staff.
• Review production schedules and allocate resources as necessary.
• Maintain strict compliance with dental health standards and regulations.
• Liaise with clients to ensure their expectations are met.
• Evaluate and revamp laboratory processes for efficiency and productivity.
• Coordinate with other departments for seamless service delivery.
• Develop and maintain documentation of laboratory procedures.
• Conduct regular audits to assess compliance with quality standards.
• Lead initiatives to implement new dental technologies and methods.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Dental Technology or equivalent
• Masters or additional certification is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of managerial experience in a dental laboratory

Technical Skills

• 3D printing in dentistry
• Dental software proficiency

Soft Skills

• Team management
• Time management

Certifications

• Certified Dental Laboratory Technician
• Lean Six Sigma Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Conversational

Advantageous

• Understanding of dental implantology: Knowledge of processes related to dental implant manufacturing.
• Proficiency in a second language: Ability to communicate in a second language will be an advantage.
