Public Health Officer

Job Description

We are in search of a committed Public Health Officer to lead health initiatives in Durban. The successful candidate will focus on promoting health education, reducing health disparities, and collaborating with local agencies.

Responsibilities

• Design public health campaigns targeting specific community needs
• Engage with the community to raise awareness about health issues
• Support disease prevention strategies and vaccination campaigns
• Review and evaluate the effectiveness of health programs
• Foster partnerships with local organizations and government agencies
• Assist in the preparation of grant proposals and funding applications
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff members

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Public Health or a related field
• Master's degree in Public Health is an asset

Experience

• 5+ years in a public health role with community focus
