Job Description

We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Legal Advisor to join our team in Port Elizabeth. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing legal advice and support on a range of legal matters, ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations while helping to foster a positive legal environment within the firm.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and mitigate risks from legal contracts and agreements.
• Monitor compliance with statutory requirements and regulations.
• Develop and implement legal training programs for employees.
• Engage proactively with stakeholders to advise on legal matters.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Law or related field
• Further qualifications in corporate law would be advantageous

Experience

• 3-5 years of relevant legal experience

Technical Skills

• Legal Drafting
• Litigation Experience

Soft Skills

• Interpersonal Skills
• Attention to Detail

Certifications

• Certificate in Corporate Law
• Admitted Advocate

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with data privacy laws: Knowledge of data protection regulations and compliance.
• Experience in mediation and conflict resolution: Ability to mediate disputes and resolve conflicts amicably.
