Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Veterinary Doctor to join our dedicated team in Port Elizabeth. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in diagnosing and treating a variety of animal health issues while providing outstanding patient care. Experience in both companion and large animal practice is preferred, and a strong commitment to animal welfare is essential.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality veterinary care for a variety of animal species.
• Assess animal behavior and provide appropriate treatment solutions.
• Develop and implement treatment plans for animals.
• Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding animal health.
• Participate in clinic management and operational decisions.
• Collaborate with local animal shelters and rescue organizations.
• Provide after-hours emergency care as required.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in all areas of the clinic.
• Advocate for animal welfare and responsible pet ownership.
• Assist in arranging and attending community pet health awareness events.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Science
• Specialisation in a veterinary field preferred

Experience

• 5+ years with a focus on companion animals

Certifications

• Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS)
